3 Things To Stop Doing To Get Clear On Your Focus

3 Things To Stop Doing To Get Clear On Your Focus

It’s time to get clear on your focus.

Time to de-clutter your mind.

Time to create more margin in your life.

Time to clearly define who you are, what you do, and what you’re worth.

If you’re feeling a bit frazzled by all of the ideas in your head and all the saturation in the marketplace and all the commitments you’ve made and well, all of the chaos that entrepreneurs are blessed with, then I’ve got some advice for you.

1. Stop watching every move that your competitors are making.

Sure, it’s important to know your competitive space. But you walk a fine line, my friend. It’s so easy getting caught up in comparison, and you run the risk of letting your competition emotionally defeat you or, God forbid, becoming your competition. In a competitive marketplace, there’s no way the biggest players are solving problems for everyone; enter you

You should learn from your competitor, by all means, but don’t let comparison set you back in your progress. You may think you’re one step behind everyone else, but the truth is everyone has their own path. You have something unique to offer, and you don’t have time to watch and worry over your competition. Instead of watching them, direct your focus to innovative marketing strategies, closing sales, and ensuring satisfied customers.

Oh, and another thing: why would you give your competition power over your emotional energy? Why would you sabotage yourself by stressing over what everyone else is doing? Your work needs that emotional energy way more than they do. Don’t let comparison steal your joy, your vision, your drive.

You do you, boo.

Here’s another idea: try viewing your competitor as a potential ally. Who knows, they may just be your new best friend. (Networking for the win!)

2. Stop setting low prices in hopes of obtaining more clients.

Know your worth, and stand by it.

As an entrepreneur, you get to set your own rates. Just in case no one has told you lately, I’ll say it right now: you bring value to your industry.

You put blood, sweat, and tears into your craft. You invest time, passion, and creative genius. And that’s worth a whole lot, believe it or not.

That gives you the authority to be unapologetic about the rates you charge. That’s a hard discipline, I’ll admit, but if you truly respect your time and your craft, you’ll ace it in no time.

You want your clients to know that your rate is fair and that you’re worth the cost. Standing firm about your rates lets them know you take your time and their needs seriously.

So strike those limiting beliefs that no one will buy from you if you’re charging what you’re worth. Knowing your worth is key to your success!

3. Stop implementing any and every idea that comes to your mind.

Focus on what you do best! It’s better to juggle a few things really well than several things poorly.

I know, I know, you’re a jack of all trades. That’s how you got this gig, right? Balancing several different roles, showcasing all of your talents, chasing every new idea in your brilliant brain…

You can always find something that needs to be done. There will always be a new vision. And your natural instinct is to do alllllll the things and explore every dream.

Your ability to focus on doing only what you’re best at will have a strong impact on how successful you’ll become within your business.

You need to be ruthless with your time management, opportunity management, and energy allocation.

Learn to say “no.”

Say it with me.

Now that we got that out of the way…

You’re not meant to be stretched thin. The human body is not built for that type of stress.

Focusing on a couple of great ideas frees up valuable time to pursue what’s most important to you. You’ll have more energy for that “one thing.” Doesn’t that sound nice?

Take a moment to stop and be. Take a breath. Now, let’s get to work using these tips to get clear on your focus so your business can thrive!
